I like this DIY for making Milk Glass vessels from
here. But if you use acrylic/latex paint, as suggested, you can't add water (it'll dissolve the paint) so no fresh flowers. Hmph.
Someone in the comments suggested using enamel or paint made for dishes instead. Done and done.
